I had complete foot reconstruction surgery in June and have to be non weight bearing for 3 months. Doesn't sound like a long time until you're living through it. I bought this bed rail primarily to help me do transfers to my bed and from my bed to my power chair. It is wonderful and like having a grab bar in my bedroom. I would have rated it a 5 except the strap they provided to anchor it to the other side of the bed was not long enough to fit a king bed. We had to rig a tow rope to make it secure. However the rail unit itself is sturdy enough for a 300+ guy and very well made.
